Your emotions are purely an indicator of what you are focussing on. They are pure feedback from life. Emotions don’t have any power in and of themselves; all of your power is in your choice of thought. Every time you experience a negative emotion, all it is saying is you’re holding onto a fearful belief that is holding back the ?ow of your real essence and energy. Fear gets you in so many ways; if you feel fear, your mind will have gone to the past because it whisks through its memory banks like the search engine on your computer and comes up with every reference it can ?nd to fear.

We don’t have to ?ght those old demons of fear and anxiety; just stop feeding them energy with your attention, and instead starve them. Switch your thoughts to something to be grateful for, or which makes you feel really good. In those moments that you focus your attention on something good, solutions will often come to you seemingly out of nowhere. As your negative, agitated thoughts subside and you stop stirring with your wooden spoon, the calmness that comes through you enables you to see with more clarity, and so the fear will lose its power over you. It will just crumble and disintegrate.

The challenge is that our minds can only focus on one thing at a time, so we can’t guard against the bad stuff and focus our attention on the good stuff at the same time. It’s one or the other – your choice!
