PostHeaderIcon Discover The Secret of Happiness

Many people carry within them a feeling of dissatisfaction, frustration or smoldering anger and resentment at their misfortunes in life. They feel as if they have been dealt a poor hand and bemoan the unfairness of life. Others seem to live life in a state of comfortable equilibrium and harmony despite their "lot". The former find it hard to understand how another can shrug their shoulders and be so accepting of bad luck. And those who have a "sunny disposition" wonder why everyone cannot be happy and more easygoing about misfortune.

I was chatting to someone the other day who said that she and her husband were going their separate ways. I was amazed as they seemed to be the perfect couple. Outside pressures had become too much for her husband and he felt he could no longer cope. I won't go into further detail here as it is not relevant. This particular lady had a wonderful way in which to look at her predicament; she said that she felt lucky for the years which they had spent together, that she appreciated that each were on their own path and that it was now time to part and grow in different ways. She loved him and wished him luck and happiness in everything he did. She looked forward to her own growth, development and learning as well.

Would the world not be a nicer place if everyone parted on such good terms, and with such a positive outlook? It would certainly be less emotionally traumatic for the characters involved.

At the end of the day each person has their own unique outlook on life. We are born with a tendency to a particular temperament, but this does not mean that we cannot adapt and change. Experience also plays a part in how we grow and develop and moulds the way in which we learn to cope, or not, as the case may be. Temperament, genetic coding and experiences together form the basis of our outlook on life. Temperament and generic coding we are born with and so have to accept that there is little we can do to change in these departments…although temperament can, and is, tempered by experience.

This leaves us with experience. Some may argue that there is very little we can do to change these, but I would argue that this could not be further from the truth. I would say that we do in fact, CREATE our own experiences, through our beliefs and expectations and the choices we make as a result of these preconceived and often subconscious ideas.

PostHeaderIcon The Amazing and Profitable Power of Kindness

A little kindness goes a long way. You’ve heard the phrase, right? It’s true for many reasons. In addition to kindness being spread quickly from one person to another, kindness also has far-reaching effects for your business and personal life.

Kindness and Intention

Dr Wayne Dyer in his book, the Power of Intention, names seven faces of intention. They are, in no particular order,

1. Love
2. Creativity
3. Beauty
4. Expansion
5. Unlimited Abundance
6. Receptivity
7. And Kindness

Kindness, Dyer deduces, is an innate power of intention because anything that has the capability to create must be kind. If it were unkind, it would destroy itself. Intention, as Dyer and many other spiritual and success experts have concluded, is an energetic power. When you’re able to access this power, you can use it to create anything in your life you want – anything you intend.

People access the power of intention through verbal or written statements, for example, “I intend to launch a new product this year,” through vision boards, and through quiet prayer. However, to amplify this power, one must embrace and be the seven faces of intention, including kindness.

When you’re unkind, you block the power of intention and move away from what you want most. When you are kind and embrace kindness, you welcome the power of intention and move closer to your heart’s desire.

PostHeaderIcon The Secret of Youthfulness

Is the secret of youthfulness cosmetic surgery, or a good diet and exercise regime, a special "wonder" supplement? Or perhaps the secret is simply having good genes? What if the secret is nothing to do with any of these things, but is instead all in your mind? You may have read this quote by Goldie Hawn:-"Youthfulness is connected to the ability to see things new for the first time. So if your eyes still look at life with wonder, then you will seem young, even though you may not be chronologically young".

How old is old? How young is young? Why do some people feel young and others old? It's not to do with age, it all boils down to your outlook on life, and how you instinctively perceive things. What is amazing is the number of people who head off to the nearest cosmetic surgeon for a nip here or a tuck there and still do not adjust to their new image. Even though your physical body may look significantly younger, you will only feel youthful when your mind adjusts to a new internal image of yourself.

What is even more amazing is that fact that this internal image is all in your mind, and therefore you have the ability to see yourself as youthful and to feel youthful no matter what shape your body is in. Cosmetic surgery really should work from the inside out, if you see what I mean! It's risk free and it is pain free. All that is required is a commitment to see things from a different angle, to think in a different way. As Goldie Hawn rightly points out, the secret of youthfulness is not based upon how you look; it is dependent on seeing things with wonder, like a child who is experiencing something for the very first time.

You may think that this is all very well for Goldie Hawn to say. She is, after all, a beautiful woman to look at as well. But that outer beauty would not be so beautiful if she did not think in a youthful and beautiful way too. Your mind and body are intrinsically connected and each impacts more greatly on the other than most people realize.

Everything which happens in your life is shaped by how you look at it, by your chosen perspective and expectations. And every thought you have has an impact on your physiology. If you feel light and bright emotionally, your body will reflect this and you will walk with a spring in your step, stand taller, your eyes will sparkle, and so on. The opposite, of course, is also true, if you were to feel down and negative your physiology would reflect this in a downward trend - looking literally down at the mouth, with your shoulders slumping and your footsteps heavy. And your habitual thoughts and expressions tend to become etched upon your face and body for the world to see.
